TKAT's trainee teachers graduate in style!
It was congratulations all round this week, as 51³Ô¹ÏÍøhosted a special event to celebrate its cohort of 78 trainees graduating to become newly qualified teachers in the Primary, Secondary and Special sectors.
Held at Kemnal Technology College in Sidcup, the graduates came together with their families to receive their certificates and listen to guest speakers, who spoke to the graduates about the highlights and challenges in their educational careers, gave them helpful advice and wished them well.
The keynote speakers were Gareth Conyard, CEO of the Teacher Development Trust, and Mike Garlick, TKAT's Director of Strategy Development and 51³Ô¹ÏÍøACE.
There were also four presentations from graduates who spoke about their individual journeys to become teachers, the ups and downs along the way, how they have developed resilience, confidence and leadership skills throughout their training, and their ambitions for the future. The highlight of the evening was a performance by David Thomas who played his ukulele and sang a song about the trials of being a trainee teacher - he received a standing ovation from his classmates!
Sarah Drury, Director of TKAT's teacher training programme, said:
"For a trainee to have a successful teacher training year, schools and staff provide a huge amount of support to make this happen.
Our team are really proud of the 2024 successful graduates; everyone pulled together and worked hard - they are more than ready to embark on their teaching careers.
This is an evening of celebration and congratulations, a time to enjoy the moment and relax together after a challenging and demanding year."
Congratulations to the class of 2024!
